Jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.2 with Custom .ipsw files for UNLOCKED iPhones  :

These ipsw (upgrade files) are for those devices who are using the ultrasn0w or yellowsn0w and rely on unlocked iphone SIMPLY SAID : people who have UNLOCKED iphones and want to upgrade to OS 3.1.2 and jailbreak and don't want to lose there unlock can use these ipsw files to restore and jailbreak there iphone to make a call or use the SIM card with carrier that is not official carrier. With these custom .ipsw files for OS 3.1.2 the baseband of iPhone 3G and 3GS ius not changed which makes it possible to stay unlocked. these files are made with PwangTool 3.1.4 and you don't need to have a jailbreaked iphone these custom .ipsw files supports out of the box. 

How to install :

SIMPLE :

1. FIRST always do a backup of your iphone or ipod touch
2. Download the files (are RAR) and open them and drag and drop the folder to desktop
3.  just open iTunes and connect iPhone and then hit RESTORE + SHIFT and browse to the custom made .ipsw files you downloaded
4. Now begin restoring thats all !!
5. When restore finished you can now restore from backup to get all informations you had

 These custom ipsw files below are ACTVATED which means these are foir people who are relying on ultrasn0w and unlock and because unlock disables the push notifications so after using these custom files ACTIVATED ones you will have PUSH not working. BASEBAND will remain unchanged.

SUMMARY:

• The iPhone 3GS is now supported out of the box in PwnageTool 3.1.4 (or if you have upgraded to 3.1.x in iTunes)
• The iPod 2G is still supported in PwnageTool 3.1.4 but you must already be jailbroken (we’ll update this if there’s a big demand from non-jailbroken ipt2G owners)
• The iPod touch 3G is NOT supported

How to :

1. just connect iphone to computer and unzip blackra1n and run the blackra1n.exe file and

   Close itunes and kill iTunesHelper.exe in taskmanager.
3. press the make it rain button and it will jailbreak your device.

NOTE : This will not activate the iphone i mean UNLOCK thge iphone so this is inot for people who are using and depending on yellowsn0w or ultrasn0w unlock so don't up[grade to 3.1.2 because this will change the baseband and if the baseband is changed then you will loser you unlock ! this software is only for jailbreaking all apple devices and not unlocking them !!

Troubleshooting:

1) Blackra1n just crashes – You don’t have itunes 9 installed or your apple mobile device service is not running. Install itunes 9 or reboot to solve.

2) Blackra1n says it’s missing QTCF.dll. Put QTCF.dll into the same folder with blackra1n.exe and run it again.

3) Blackra1n hangs on running… – You need to kill iTunes and iTunesHelper.exe. This step should only take a couple seconds and something should happen.

GOLDEN RULE : first jailbreak iphone OS 3.0 or 3.0.1 if you are in 3.1 not jail broken then downgrade to 3.0 or 3.01 and then jailbreak using redsnow and then use the custom made .ipsw files to jailbreak OS 3.1 if you don't do these then jailbreak for OS 3.1 will NOT work !! so this is only for iPhone 3GS (OS 3.0 or 3.0.1) that have jailbroken OS 3.0 or 3.0.1 and want to change to 3.1 with jailbreak. USE the custom .ipsw files below if you have PC. How to install :

SIMPLE : just open iTunes and connect 3GS and then hit RESTORE + SHIFT and browse to the custom made .ipsw files you downloaded thats all !!

The iPhone 3GS is now supported in PwnageTool 3.1.3, assuming the phone was pwned at 3.0 or 3.0.1 - PwnageTool does not support the 3GS out of the box. If your iPhone 3GS has 3.1 preinstalled and is not Pwned then there is no tested jailbreak solution at the moment.

Baseband 101

The ‘baseband’ is the generic nickname given to the internal components of the iPhone that handle the phone calls and Internet access. This ‘baseband’ is a tiny and unique independent computer system that runs inside your iPhone, it is separate to the main system that handles the applications (such as email and google maps) and it talks to the main part of the phone over an internal communications network. Think of it like a cable modem or other peripheral that is attached to your home PC that needs occasional updates. When a software update is released and presented to you within iTunes the baseband is sometimes updated (to fix bugs or add new features). The 3.1 update for the iPhone 3G contains such an update, so running the vanilla updater straight away with iTunes will reprogram and update the baseband.

SIM Free/SP Unlocked/Factory Unlocked iPhone 3G

This applies if you bought your iPhone 3G for $$$$$$$. This model of iPhone 3G doesn’t have an Service Provider lock (aka factory unlocked) and you are able to put any SIM card into the phone and get service. Your phone is already unlocked so you do not need to worry about baseband updates, simply upgrade to 3.1 using iTunes and then use PwnageTool to create an ipsw and then use this to jailbreak your phone.

iPhone 2G (1st Generation)

Use PwnageTool to do the magic and then restore with iTunes using your newly created .ipsw ‘nuff said, you don’t need to worry about anything, the baseband will be unlocked, the phone jailbroken.

iPod touch 1G (Original iPod Touch)

Use PwnageTool to create a firmware image and restore with that .ipsw using iTunes.

iPod touch 2G

Sorry, no support at this time within PwnageTool, use Redsn0w for an earlier (pre 3.1) firmware release instead.

Problems and ERRORS during the upgrade :

Error 1600 :

You had the iPhone into DFU mode put it into recovery mode instead. and then upgrade so if u have error 1600 then use recovery mode to upgrade and not DFU mode !!

Ertror 1050 :

People who have there iphone and ipod touch registerd to a dvelopers account they can upgrade with no problems and people who have iphone 3GS should register there device to a developers account to get the os 3.1 on there 3GS upgraded with no problems.If you’re using the ultrasn0w software unlock, DO NOT UPGRADE to iPhone OS 3.1 beta because you may permanently lose your unlock. Apple has updated the baseband  Remember, even when the final iPhone 3.1 firmware is released you should not update if you want to keep your ultrasn0w unlock. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
