Unloack HARDSPL your HTC Viva (also known as opal) :

HardSPL is based on version 1.26 SPL. and is version 2 (2.00.cmon). also i *think* this one will not hard reset the phone it's for any OPAL***** modelid now, thanks to wlinsong and PhamQuang for testing
instructions:
1) download Hard-SPL package from HERE, extract to an empty folder (Opal_HardSPL_v2_0.zip).
2) you must have the phone synced with your PC, i.e. device must be in Windows Mobile!
3) run Opal_HardSPL_v2.exe.
4) follow steps in the RUU, and check on the device for prompts after PC shows loading bar.
5) device should go to a grey screen
6) go on with RUU, Hard-SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done.
7 ) to confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (tricolour screen!) and verify the screen shows 2.00.cmon
+1: if the screen won't go to grey mode (SSPL), then try manually entering SSPL by using the Opal-SSPL-Manual.zip - run the EXE on the phone then when it went to grey screen, run the HardSPL exe on PC and flash.
now, enjoy the hardspl and cooked roms
UPDATE: How to flash stock SPL back for warranty purposes - please use this only if you need to return device for repair!
steps:
0. first flash entire stock ROM, then after that you can flash stock SPL as *last step*. do not reverse this flashing order please
1. get the RUU_Signed.NBH file from attachment (opalstockspl126.zip (185.3 KB))
2. run hardspl package from attachment (Opal_HardSPL_v2_0.zip)
3. *after* Opal HardSPL EXE extracts files, replace extracted RUU_Signed.NBH with the one from opalstockspl126.zip i.e. when asked to overwrite, say Yes, if it doesn't ask, then you are trying to copy it before running the HardSPL EXE, which is the wrong order.
4. flash just like you flashed HardSPL (see original instructions above)
5. device reboots, you can now check if it says 1.26.0000 or still 1.26.cmon or 2.02.cmon, in the latter case you did something wrong, it has to show 1.26.0000.

download Hard-SPL package from HERE, extract to an empty folder. make sure it's launched from a local drive (not through network drive,
etc.)
2) you must Have Phone Synced with PC in Windows Mobile!
3) run RaphaelHardSPL-Unsigned_190_1_3.exe,
4) follow steps in the RUU, check device for prompts after PC shows loading bar.
5) it should go to black screen now.
6) SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done.
7) to confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (tricolour screen!) and verify the screen shows 1.90.OliNex. NOTE: you will not see the SPL version during normal boot, that is the OS version, not SPL!
to enter bootloader mode to see version: with the device turned on, press and hold the volume down button, then press the reset button with the stylus tip, then release the volume down button when bootloader tricolour screen appears.
NOTE 2: anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically, please copy SSPLManual.exe from second attachment to the device and run it. then once the screen is black, run RUU manually. i.e. you run the RUU on the PC, if it isn't obvious.
NOTE 3: this is unsigned Hard-SPL. no limitations on flashing ROMs or radio packages. also, this has overwrite protection, if someone needs to revert to stock SPL for warranty reasons, we will soon post a stock SPL downgrade package.

0. be sure to first restore stock OS, and stock radio. stock SPL is always to be done last!!
1. download the stock spl package from this post.
2. also download the original hardspl from the attachments in this post.
3. run the hardspl exe but do not click anything in RUU yet. just let the hardspl EXE extract the files for flashing.
4. the SPL you want to revert to is a .NBH file, put the NBH in the extracted hardspl package, overwriting the original NBH file in it!
5. continue with the RUU (or if needed, run SSPL-Manual.exe manually, then run RUU when it goes to black screen), it goes to 100%, reboots, done.
+6. to verify, volume down + reset, see version number on tricolour screen, should now just say 1.90.0000.

Iam impressed by this htc phone it is well designed and also it has lots of ne features.

Negative:
The only negative thing i find in this device is the ability that it doesnot have any expandable slot for storage card reader. u only get 4 GB of internal storage ! but its enough i think
Below there is the software to ulock your htc touch diamond in order to upgrade to any other ROM. Ater unlocking the device then u can upgrade to ROM of your liking provided by XDA-developers Elite team and other new upgrades from htc or other carriers. If the phone is not unlocked then u can't upgrade to other ROMS.

before upgrading or unlocking u must be connected to your computer. Your Mobile device should be connected to computer as usual just like when u re instlling something from computer so No need to go to bootloader mode it tkes u there automtically !!
OK folks, Hard-SPL is finally released, my apologies for the delay, but I had a few teething troubles with my own device... well, actually I broke the sec area then had loads of fun fixing it.
anyway... when connected to pc then run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow the steps this is Hard-SPL, when you load it and the SPL runs, it'll display the 3 colours then ask you to REPLUG your usb cable, please unplug and re-plug and wait a good few seconds and this will disappear.
within seconds the device will then become upgraded to Hard-SPL.once that's done, enjoy, you're unlocked.also please note this Hard-SPL is based on an MFG, for those of you who intend to play.
